MIRANDA ZIRNBAUER is a German-American violinist actively performing and teaching in both her home countries. Specialized in historical performance, she is pursuing a Doctoral degree at IU’s Historical Performance Institute on a full scholarship under Ingrid Matthews. She also holds a Masters Degree in Baroque violin under Stanley Ritchie and a Bachelor’s Degree in Violin Performance under the late Kevork Mardirossian from the same institution. Miranda has performed in concerts with Sir Simon Rattle, Kirill Petrenko, Sabine Meyer, Elizabeth Wallfish and in masterclasses with Vadim Gluzman, Ivry Gitlis, Barthold Kuijken, Sergey Malov and Marc Vanscheuuvijk. She has been invited to perform at American Bach Soloists Academy, Tafelmusik Summer Festival and Princeton Early Music Festival. Miranda serves as violin faculty at several youth programs including Bloomington Early Music Immersion, Indiana University’s Historical Performance Institute Academy and Tecklenburg Summer Youth Academy in the german countryside. Based out of Bloomington, she performs regularly with Bloomington Bach Cantata Project, Seven Hills Baroque and Bloomington Early Music.

In her recreational time Miranda can be found digging in her permaculture flower and vegetable beds, experimenting with sourdough, and fiddling on a medieval violin- vielle.
