IBO Musicians

Violist Rachel Gries graduated from IU’s School of Music with both a Bachelor of Music and Master of Music degrees, concentrating on historical performance practice with Stanley Ritchie for her Master’s Degree. In addition to performing with the Indianapolis Baroque Orchestra, she also serves as a board member and volunteer. She travels to play with groups throughout the Midwest.

Rachel shares her passion for music to students at the Indianapolis Suzuki Academy where she teaches private lessons and group classes. She is also Principal Violist of both the Carmel Symphony Orchestra and Anderson Symphony Orchestra, and runs Smith Valley Strings, which provides music for special events. Outside of music, Rachel enjoys staying active, volunteering for non-profit organizations in her community, and spending time with her family.
